Late summer, 1997…

Eleven years ago today, on a Thursday, I was at Mar’s Night Club in Bloomington, IN with my best friend, Jim, enjoying a night off from our jobs as servers.  Sometime around midnight, Jim introduced me to one of his coworkers that had come with a group of friends from the restaurant where they all worked.  The man had the most amazing, sparkling blue eyes I’ve ever seen.  Shortly after being introduced, we found ourselves together on the dance floor, grooving to Prince’s “Little Red Corvette”.  Little did I know at that moment that the man with the beautiful blue eyes would become my love, my heart, my soul, my husband, my Ben.

Hello, all!  I’m back from my all of my adventures in the Midwest (Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, and Wisconsin).  Boy, am I glad to be done traveling for a while.  I can’t wait to sleep in this weekend and not have to be any where in particular.  I’m so tired.  And fat.  I’ve gained 5 pounds since the end of June and I’m not happy about it.  Too, too much indulging of treats from the Mother Land (incredible steaks, pork tenderloin sandwiches, Mad Mushroom cheesesticks at 11 pm, lovely anniversary dinner in Bloomington, the list goes on and on and on…).  I did not fit comfortably in my navy blue work slacks today and I felt like a cow.  Moo!

I have pictures and stories that I’ll get to eventually.  Work is pretty crazy right now.  Today was only my second day back in the office this week and I’m already wishing it was Friday.  Ugh.
